Help Us Raise Funds for a Smart Pup
April 15 2020How Can You Help? A SMART PUP FOR ALEX
Alex was born with cerebral palsy and his positivity, resilience and thoughtfulness continue to inspire us all.
Alex loves Batman, St Kilda Football Club and learning new things. He is now thirteen years old and in Year 8 at Weeroona College Bendigo. He longs to be more independent as he gets about in his wheelchair.
A Smart Pup will enable Alex to gain that extra independence. He can cross roads safely, find
his way around, an item dropped can be picked up, doors can be opened and lights switched on.. Just a few of the practical ways his Smart Pup can help.
In addition his Smart Pup can be trained to give Alex a gentle nudge when he gets a lean on one side of his chair and to recognise if Alex is having an epileptic seizure, seeking help. Most of all in having a Smart Pup companion, Alex will always have a Best Friend nearby. The training for the pup can take 12-14 months but it is intense, and these dogs are just incredible. We are asked to raise $25,000 before training can begin.
People who know and love Alex often ask how they can help. Here is an opportunity. Any contribution, however small, would be very much appreciated in helping us to reach this target.
