Rotary fortunes at Fortuna

February 20 2017

As part of the Rotary Club of Bendigo South’s goal to connect to the community, on the meeting of the 16th February, members and friends, as well as partners toured the historically significant Fortuna Villa.

Now owned and restored by the Banks family, Fortuna was once owned by Bendigo’s own gold mining quartz King, George Lansell.

Seeing the improvements made to the premises since it ceased functioning as a defence facility was a truly behind the scenes opportunity for members of the Club, as well as for their friends and family.

Occasions such as these Vocational Visits are an excellent and informal setting my likeminded people to explore and get to know each other in a more relaxed setting. To join the Club on its next visit or to know more about our program of events or membership, don’t hesitate to contact our Club. We’d love to have you along!

The Rotary Club and friends tour historic Fortuna Villa, stopping to admire the Pompeii fountain along the way.
