Bendigo South launches Health Sci Scholarship

September 30 2014

Last Tuesday evening, the Rotary Club of Bendigo South joined with Bendigo Next Gen RC and Bendigo Strathdale RC to officially launch its new Health Sciences scholarship program for students studying at La Trobe University (Bendigo).

The scholarship will help recipients to meet the costs associated with studying a health science course at the regional campus.

To aid in funding the scholarship, a raffle was launched for which Rotarians, guests and members of the public are encouraged to buy a ticket in.

The night was largely multi-focused, as we were fortunate enough to hear from Mr Steven Meacher of the Friends of the Leadbeater’s Possum Society, talking about the life and near extinction of Victoria’s official faunal emblem. The main prize for the raffle is an oil painting of two Leadbeater possums, hence the keynote address being from a representative of the Leadbeater’s possum society.

There were many tickets sold on the night, with plenty of fun and fellowship being enjoyed at the Nancy Long Dining Hall at the Bendigo La Trobe Uni campus.
