Meningoencephalocele (MEC) operations in Cambodia
July 29 2014Recently, our very own Rotarian, Anne Peace together with Bendigo-Strathdale Rotarian, Greg Penno, spoke on ABC Local Radio during Jonathan Ridnell’s Breakfast program.
The topic of their interview was ‘meningoencephalocele.’
“What is that?” I hear you saying. Well, you’ll just have to listen to the interview podcast to find out. Here are a few clues though:
- It’s a condition which is quite endemic in countries such as Cambodia.
- For just $800, an operation can be performed to cure the children who are afflicted by this terrible condition.
Thanks to Jonathan Ridnell and the team at ABC Local Radio for making this recording available to the Rotary Club.
